How does the packing list generator work?
Enter your destination, departure and return dates, gender, luggage type, and the kind of trip you’re taking (beach, hiking, city, etc.). The generator pulls climate data for your destination during the months you’re traveling and builds a list based on that — not a generic template. Add activities or kids to refine it further.
Does it account for the weather at my destination?
Yes. The list adjusts based on the climate for your specific travel months. Heading to Southeast Asia in monsoon season is different from going in February — and the list reflects that. Rainy season means a packable rain jacket makes the list. Dry season in a hot country means you won’t see a heavy sweater.
Can I download or save my packing list?
Yes — download it as a PDF directly from the tool. You can also copy a shareable link to access your list again later or send it to someone you’re traveling with.
Does it work for trips with kids?
Yes. Select “traveling with kids” and enter their age range. The list adds kid-specific items based on the ages you enter — what you need for a toddler is different from what you need for a 12-year-old. Adult items stay the same.
How many countries does it cover?
The generator covers destinations across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. Climate-based adjustments apply to the most common travel destinations. For countries without detailed climate data, it defaults to a general list based on your travel dates and region.
